For children who find learning at school difficult, boring, or too easy.
Whether your child is struggling to keep up, feels unchallenged, or just isn’t enjoying learning, there may be underlying needs that haven’t yet been fully understood. I work alongside parents, schools, and children to identify each child’s learning strengths and challenges — and to create personalised, practical plans that make learning more accessible, meaningful, and enjoyable.
As an Educational Psychologist in Rotorua, I support a wide range of learning needs, including:
Specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia
Neurodiversity including ADHD and Autism
Giftedness and children needing learning extension
Twice-exceptional learners — children who are both gifted and have additional learning or behavioural challenges

Support for Learning Differences and Neurodivergence
I support children who:
Are disengaged or frustrated by school
Experience difficulties with literacy or numeracy
Show signs of dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties
Are neurodivergent (e.g. ADHD, Autism)
Are gifted or twice-exceptional and need learning extension
Experience low motivation, poor focus, or emotional distress related to schoolwork
My goal is to identify how your child learns best — and to collaborate with you and their school to create a learning environment where they can truly thrive.
Learning Support Services Include:
Cognitive and academic assessments
Neurodiversity assessments (e.g. ADHD, Autism, giftedness, 2e)
Specific learning difficulty assessments (e.g. dyslexia)
Individualised learning plans tailored to your child
Collaboration with school staff and other professionals
Practical strategies to support learning both at school and home
How the Process Works
1. Initial Consultation
We begin with a parent-only session to understand your concerns, your child’s history, and your goals for support.
2. School Collaboration
I connect with your child’s school through a teacher meeting or classroom observation to gather their perspective and understand the learning environment.
3. Child Session
I meet with your child to explore their experiences with learning through discussion and play — in a relaxed, supportive setting.
4. Targeted Assessments
Depending on the concerns, I’ll carry out appropriate assessments (e.g. cognitive, academic, and/or behavioural questionnaires) to build a full picture of your child’s learning profile.
5. Comprehensive Written Report
You’ll receive a detailed report outlining findings, strengths, challenges, and clear recommendations for support at home and school.
6. Review Meeting
We’ll meet again to go over the results together and create a tailored plan that supports your child’s learning journey going forward.
7. Optional Ongoing Support
If needed, I can work with your child’s school to help implement their learning plan or continue to provide ongoing support sessions.

Not all children learn the same way — and that’s okay.
Let’s uncover how your child learns best and support them with confidence.
